This month found us at a butcher shop, a pizza joint and a moment with a holy statue.

We couldn’t make too many social media posts this month because out of nowhere suddenly without warning my phone battery stopped working and wouldn’t take a charge. It’s dead than dead and I couldn’t get any of those two-step authorization codes, or into any of my accounts either. What a nightmare. Took several days to get a new phone and then tech support's help to set it up because he had to pass all the other security loopholes in lieu of the text codes. Eventually we prevailed. Phew.

There was a very disappointing unit inspection that turned out to be a real farse as they weren’t even here a full 60 seconds, and we had a lot of things to show or report. A letter from my health insurance saying they were going to cut me off for not updating my address, and yet they sent the letter to my new address, indicating that I really did update them, yet we still had to file for an appeal over it. Gov. cuts are threatening to end the rental voucher programs over budgeting funds, potentially leaving us out on the street, I don’t know how they select who loses their voucher or not, or when, but needless to say stress levels soared sky high waiting to see how that pans out. Not sure what else can be done at this point other than pray and stay positive. Beyond that I can’t even wrap my mind around what we’d do. We also had to get rid of our Vet Dr. who gave us short shrift yet again and then over charged us by $300. We still need to be seen elsewhere, so goodbye to him, long overdue.

Mostly this month there were a lot of behind-the-scenes things going on that got in the way of doing other things, or getting outdoors more and set off a huge autoimmune flare that left me incapacitated with exhaustion. The dog days of summer got the both of us, the heat was just too much for too long this year. I’m still experiencing the worst exhaustion of my life. But with my health insurance suspended, there’s not much that can be done about it other than rest, vitamins, self-care, good food, no stress, etc.

As for Sven, he’s relatively ok. We started a new variation of heartworm pills and so far, it seems to be going ok. No major breakouts, throwing up or diarrhea. It’s also ragweed season here, and Sven being Sven, he’s been snorting the grass and all the pollen still on it like its Pixie Stix. I’ve been trying to find grass-free places to take him to go pee and avoid the ragweed as much as possible.

August really kicked my ass, and we’re looking forward to September and fall season.

Below are some snapshots from our travels, a pile of mail that I finally filed and the accursed puke pail at 3am from BPPV spins in bed.
