May's Mayhem & Moving

Well May didn't go as planned either. Does anything ever? We got to our new address ok. The Movers were very late arriving, and I really thought we might need to hire another company last minute, but nonetheless they showed up and managed to finish the same day.
We experienced some mishaps within the unit, such as HP buttons and things not working, delivery delays, furniture returns from hell, furniture assembly nightmares, keys not working, and there was a water leak to contend with. We had to sleep in the car for two nights, but no worse for the wear, honestly that was the least of our woes; we were just so glad to finally be out of the old unit and done with that whole scene. It never really served our needs and was only supposed to be temporary.
A bit of sad news is that Grammy needs to be admitted to a nursing home for long term dementia care. Grampy is just too old to care for her and himself 24/7. We're sad with the way things went down rather abruptly, (obnoxious relatives & nasty squabbles) Grampy is upset, they've been together for 63 years, and Grammy is going to miss out on somethings, but it is the best option for them both and we'll work things out.
As for the service dog end of things - right now he is not allowed into the hospital geriatric unit she is in, due to patient safety & rights. Now one could say I have rights too, he is durable medical equipment, but... in this instance we opt to comply without a fuss for now. Elderly patients with Dementia, Alzheimer's and other brain related issues could become fearful, freak out or get hurt. I'm confident in Sven's reactions, but the patients can be unpredictable and that poses a problem. The hospital has a duty to all patients. While I do have a disorder and need him, I can manage short trips with a walker, albeit I lose the ability of a medical alert and balance correction without him. For the sake of Grammy, Sven has to sit this one out. Maybe when she's finally placed and settled things will change. We'll have to wait and see.
Sven went on a bit of a hunger strike with all the changes. He actually threw up about two weeks later, a collagen bone, said to be non-raw-hide. From the looks of things, that was a lie and we'll have to removed that product from our reorder list. He's doing ok now. Likes the new place and his bed nook. He's enjoying being at ground level once again and having yardage around us. We actually have an area out back for a grill and a few chairs to sit out. I'm thinking of putting a bench out there eventually perhaps. Kind of hard to sit out when Sven's allergic to trees and grass, and I'll have to find him something more appropriate to put out there for him to sit on. The area is also known for it's mosquito's and green heads.
Few pics below, I don't have much to share, been too hectic. Fingers crossed for June.
