November was true to its reputation as a transitional month. While Sven's ear infection and skin condition continued to heal up and improve thus far and is looking fantastic. Thyroid numbers have improved on his medication. Once the cyto-point injection wears off in a few more weeks, we'll see how much improvement is due from what's what.
In a turn of unfortunate events, I have injured my knee, really throwing a monkey wrench into our plans for mall walking this winter season. Our days have become filled with medical visits, physical therapy visits and even a legal representative to hold those responsible for it accountable. It's stressful, painful and disappointing, but what's done is done and we just have to deal with overcoming it and navigating around winter. Because of the legal entanglements not much more can be said about it for a while, as that's how these things end up going. Sad to say.
Fortunately, Sven has been well received at most of our medical visits and accompanies me to therapy. Which is in stark contrast with our eye specialist appointments. where they were carrying on from behind plexiglass saying they thought they smelled dog, and exaggerated levels of spraying Lysol in our presence. {sigh} For patient privacy reasons, we won't be posting a lot of pics of Sven at therapy with me although. It's mainly an open room setup which makes it rather difficult and cheesy to be thinking about socials vs health concerns.
We managed to get through Thanksgiving, but it was another 4-alarm fun family dinner when the shelf in the oven collapsed, and the Harrow's pie fell to the bottom of the oven. After some shouting and freaking out and typical antics, we managed to salvage dinner using a pizza paddle and scooped up most of the pie, minus some gravy. It was still delicious; we had a mess to clean up and a new story to tell for years to come. We even picked up some novelty chips for grammy & gramps to have their leftover sandwiches with.
In other disasters - our Facebook Page took a few hits from meddlers. Facebook deleted our original page and then the renewed page was tampered with. Mom spent a lot of back and forth with Meta trying to save either one of them. But in the end, it just couldn't be helped or saved and she ultimately ended up with a whole new personal account, phone # and page URL. We again apologize to our friends, fans and followers for the confusion. If you are looking to reconnection, our website has hyperlinks to all of our socials. We can't promise that this page will stick around, as some of our Great Dane acquaintances online have been experiencing similar situations and we feel it's a targeted effort at being malicious.
Below are a few highlights in pictures; left to right: Panera Bread Luncheon with Grammy, Sven's fur has healed up, his mall walking hoodie so he's not too hot or cold, Ortho & PT visits and our oven Fiasco.
